JAMMU: A joint team of security forces on Friday busted a terrorist hideout in a village in Mendhar sub-division of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district and seized arms and ammunition.
“In continuation of relentless operations against terror in Jammu region, an intelligence based joint operation by IndianArmy and JKP has led to the recovery of 03 pistols with foreign markings, 06 magazines, 64 rounds of 9mm ammunition and 04 grenades from a hideout in Mendhar sector. This has dealt a huge blow to a terror plot planning to carry out targeted killings.(sic),” the Army’s White Knight Corps posted on its official X page.
Intense search operations have been underway in Poonch’s Dera Ki Gali and Bafliaz areas as well as Rajouri district’s Thannamandi and adjoining places since December 21, following the Surankote anti-terror operation in which four Army men were killed. So far, there has been no trace of the terrorists who had managed to escape the security cordon.
