NEW DELHI: Railway officials in Delhi reported delays for 23 trains due to dense fog causing low visibility on Sunday.
Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express faced a nearly 7-hour delay, while Howrah-New Delhi Poorva Express and Azamgarh-Delhi Kaifiyat Express were delayed by 5 hours. Trains like Saharsa-New Delhi Vaishali Express, Allahabad-New Delhi Prayagraj Express, and Rajendranagar-New Delhi Sampoorn Kranti experienced 4-hour delays.
Sealdah-New Delhi Rajdhani faced a 1.45-hour delay, and Padmavat Express was late by almost 3 hours.Pune-Nizamudin Duronto was delayed by 2 hours, Bhopal-Nizamuddin Express by 6 hours, and Durg-Nizamuddin S Kranti by 3.50 hours. Chennai-New Delhi GT Express was delayed by almost 6 hours.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department forecasted dense to very dense fog in multiple regions, including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi. The IMD also predicted a further drop in temperatures in the first week of January 2024, with Safdarjung Observatory expecting temperatures between 10 and 7 degrees Celsius in the national capital.
