NEW DELHI: In the Republic Day parade on Friday, Isro‘s tableau took center stage, featuring the successful landing of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft near the Moon‘s south pole and the Aditya L-1 mission dedicated to studying the Sun.
A notable highlight was the representation of women scientists actively contributing to various Isro missions, notably as the organization gears up for India’s maiden human space flight scheduled for next year.
The tableau showcased a detailed model of the Launch Vehicle Mark-3, responsible for propelling Chandrayaan-3 to the Moon from Sriharikota. The lunar landing site, named Shiv Shakti Point by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was also prominently featured.
Illustrating Isro’s commitment to advancing space exploration, the tableau provided insights into the successful Aditya L-1 mission and offered a glimpse into future endeavors, including the Gaganyaan mission and the development of the Bhartiya Antariksh Station.
Adding a historical perspective, the tableau paid tribute to ancient astronomers and space pioneers such as Aryabhatta and Varahamihir, connecting India’s rich astronomical heritage with its modern space achievements. The tableau served as a visual narrative of Isro’s remarkable milestones and aspirations, celebrating both contemporary scientific achievements and the legacy of India’s contributions to space exploration.
