DEHRDUN/ RUDRAPUR: Sushant Chandravanshi, a student of BHSVM school in Tehri, has topped the class 10 state board exams with 99% marks, getting 100% in Maths.
Dhruv Prasad, Sushant’s father, who works as a carpenter at a furniture shop, told TOI, “He has done us all proud. The result is better than our expectations.” Sushant intends to pursue science and thereafter software engineering, the proud father added.
An overview of the results revealed that the pass percentage was 85.2% for class 10 and 81% for class 12. Girls performed better than boys in both classes.
Tanu Chauhan, a student of Ramlal Vidyamandir in Jaspur town of Udham Singh Nagar district, secured the top position in the state in class 12 with 97.6% marks.
Tanu, the daughter of a farmer, used to ride four km on a cycle to reach school. “I studied almost nine hours daily to secure this position. My vision for the future includes achieving success in the UPSC examination and serving the country,” she said.
Himani Panwar, the daughter of a government teacher in Uttarkashi, bagged second position in the class 12 exams with 97% marks.
