India faced defeat in the rain-hit second T20I against South Africa on Thursday, but Rinku Singh added to his growing reputation with his maiden half-century in the format. An en route that landmark, he shattered the glass window of the commentary box with one of his two sixes.

“I didn’t know my hit broke the glass. Sorry for that,” Rinku said with a smile.
India captain Suryakumar Yadav (56 off 36 balls) and Rinku led the Indian batting charts with half-centuries.

South Africa rode on knocks from Reeza Hendricks (49) and skipper Aiden Markram (30) to chase down the revised target in 13.5 overs, scoring 154 for 5, for a five-wicket (DLS) win.
The win gave South Africa a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, after the opening game in Durban was washed out. India will now look to win the third T20I to level the series and share the trophy.
