NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 106th episode of the monthly radio program today.
During his address, the PM announced the launch of a nationwide platform called ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ on October 31, which is Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary. This platform is designed to provide opportunities for young people to actively participate in various nation-building initiatives.
During his Mann Ki Baatradio broadcast, Modi informed the public about the upcoming ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ website and encouraged the youth to register on MYBharat.Gov.in.He emphasized that MYBharat will empower the youth of India to take an active role in national development initiatives, describing it as a unique effort to harness the energy of India’s youth for the progress of the nation.
In his address, the Prime Minister also acknowledged that October 31 is the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and paid his respects to her.
Modi reiterated his call for promoting and supporting local products, stating, “Like always, this time too, especially during festivals, our focus should be on ‘Vocal for Local.’ I would like to emphasize that while traveling for tourism or pilgrimage, we should buy products crafted by local artisans.”
Additionally, Modi highlighted that Khadi, a symbol of self-reliance and a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy, witnessed record sales on Gandhi Jayanti.
On the 3rd of October 2014, Prime Minister Modi initiated the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, which is aired on All India Radio and Doordarshan every last Sunday of the month at 11 am.
Despite the numerous digital communication options available, the Prime Minister chose radio as the medium of choice, primarily due to All India Radio’s (AIR) extensive reach, making it one of the world’s largest broadcasting networks. AIR’s coverage spans 99.20% of the population and extends over 92.0% of the country’s territory.
The ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program boasts a regular viewership of 23 crore individuals, with an additional 41 crore tuning in occasionally. According to reports, a significant majority of listeners, around 73%, hold optimistic views about the country’s progress
